Trippy! & Illusions! cc
Speech Bubble
Another idea, maybe as the character sare speaking, some important text can be projected above them, like a speech bubble.
IDEAS for Mercutio's monologue

OR
He could have a phycidelic image projected onto him to confuse the audience and show the craziness of his words.PS. We are not suggesting you make him a vampire, we just wanted to use an image where someone was wearing a cape.
TEXTURES
We were brainstorming different textures and how we could project meaningful text from the script as the actors speak it.

Favourite Font & Prologue Text
This is just an experiment done on photoshop to test the handwriting font we liked on a black background. We went through ALL the font files on dafont.com and found the best ones, featured on a previous post, picked this one as the best. We picked this one because it is neat enough and the line weight it thick enough to show up clearly while projecting. Also it looks like real handwriting (its messy yet still looks natural) and suits the shakespearian text.

Titles, Quotes and Images up to act 3
I thought projecting a more modern one line summary of the text for each Scene would be effective in guiding an unsure audience. Sort of like Chapter titles. The image ideas follow this thought. Finally a quote from each Scene in a relevant font to highlight an important part that may have ben missed.

Prologue
Original Text
Two households, both alike in dignity,
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life;
Whose misadventur'd piteous overthrows
Doth, with their death, bury their parents’ strife.
The fearful passage of their death-mark'd love,
And the continuance of their parents’ rage,
Which, but their children's end, naught could remove,
Is now the two hours’ traffic of our stage;
The which if you with patient ears attend,
What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend.
Modern Translation
Two families, the same in almost every respect,
In the town of Verona, Italy, where this play is set,
Continue an old feud with new breakouts of violence,
Involving and killing citizens outside the families.
The son of one family and the daughter of the other,
Having become lovers, commit suicide,
Following a series of events that keep them apart.
Their deaths cause the families to end the feud.
The events that lead to their suicide,
As well as the continuing feud between the families,
(which nothing but their children’s death could end),
Will now be performed on this stage for two hours.
If you listen to the play attentively, any details you
Missed in this introduction, will be explained as you watch the play.
